The Guinness of Honey
A Guinness Holiday
For thousands of years the Irish have celebrated their patron saint with a day of feasting. Of course, no feast is complete without honey--or fine beverages. St. Patrick’s Day banquet tables historically featured honey as a condiment and as the key ingredient in mead, of which there was no shortage. Sounds good to us. Today, our holiday plans include raising a glass and a jar to Irish culture.
Buckwheat, the Guinness of Honey. Dark and thick with a malty finish, this honey’s bold, earthy flavors may scare off the faint of heart, but the adventurous will find a complexity befitting the Emerald Isle. Try Buckwheat on fresh goat cheese or yogurt, or stir a spoonful into your coffee (Irish or otherwise) for a morning pick-me-up.
